Randall’s Island, NY

The Sportime Randall’s Island Golf and Sports Center is a proposed year-round recreational campus. Sportime has a license with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation to develop the site. The scope of work includes a new clubhouse building directly connected to a two-tier, 44-stall driving range; an 18-hole miniature golf course woven into an existing allée of mature trees; a large-span fieldhouse structure (either pre-engineered metal building systems or air-supported bubble) to accommodate year-round multi-use turf fields and convertible court spaces; a playground with a seasonal splash pad area; outdoor seating and activity zones; a multiuse covered terrace; outdoor practice fields; and associated site improvements including the entrance plaza, drop-off loop, pathways, landscaping, and parking.

    • Full project management services, including project scope development, architect selection, consultant selection, budgeting and construction / build out.

    • Sportime engaged Envoie during the pre-schematic phase. As part of our first tasks, we developed a project schedule and budget and worked to align scope, cost, schedule and phasing assumptions.

    • Envoie ran RFP for architect selection, as well as procured services for survey, GPR, geotechnical, cost estimating, arborist and golf consulting services, amongst other specialty consultants.

    • Close collaboration between client and design team to strategize design and approach for Department of Parks (DPR), Randall Island Preservation Alliance (RIPA) and Public Design Commission (PDC) approvals.

    • Development of budget and cost scenarios to inform Client proforma, to align scope of work, budget and revenue generating programs and ensure viable project.
