Dwight-Englewood Middle School

Englewood Cliffs, NJ

Dwight-Englewood, a K-12 private school located in northern New Jersey, embarked upon a masterplan to develop the campus with strategic capital projects that aim to provide an unparalleled environment for learning and teaching. The middle school project is the second project that we have managed for the school. A dedicated building for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades, the building provides flexible classrooms and open collaboration spaces throughout 3 floors, each with visual connections to the lushly landscaped site through large glazed openings. The design fosters spontaneous interactions and learning opportunities and achieved LEED Silver certification.

    • Full project management services

    • Managed key vendors, including AV/IT/ Security and graphics and FFE teams.

    • Our firm was engaged partially through construction to take over for another project management firm. Critical to the transition was fostering great teamwork amongst the design, construction and client teams to ensure the project got back on track.

    • There were extensive make-ready and site work issues, each of which required the full team’s collaboration to resolve.

    • Critical to the process is maintaining the safety and access for the rest of the campus while in construction.

    • Construction had to be completed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, so labor availability was greatly impacted and site protocols had to be heavily modified to ensure safe working conditions.
