Central Library -
Phase II
Brooklyn, NY
With over 1.3 million users annually, and over 4,000 events per year the Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library is a community and educational hub for the borough. Envoie completed phase 1 in 2021, and is now working on the second phase of renovation, as part of a 4-phase Master Plan. The phase includes a consolidation of all administrative spaces onto the 3rd floor. The remaining collection areas will be revamped, along with a complete transformation of the kids and teens spaces and the Adult Learning Center. Exterior restoration of the stone façade will also be tackled during this phase as well as restoration of the original windows. All work is being completed in phases so as not to disrupt ongoing operations of the library, which will remain open during construction.
