Saint Ann’s School, located in the heart of Brooklyn Heights, recently acquired a 1930’s bank building to expand their physical campus as part of their master plan. Envoie Projects was engaged in 2022 to confirm the program goals of the renovation and also complete the architect selection process. The stakeholder engagement process was essential to cementing the program goals and design of all spaces, and confirmed the strategic move of Saint Ann’s Kindergarten program nearer to their Lower, Middle and High School programs to create synergies across those school divisions. The building will also house a Lower School science lab, four general-use classrooms, a movement studio, a performance and gathering space, and an innovative rooftop playscape designed by renowned play expert Cas Holman. The project aims to achieve LEED Gold Certification as well as 30% M/WBE participation.

    • Full project management services, starting with program confirmation and architect selection. 

    • Led RFP process for all Owner consultants and vendors. 

    • Negotiate business terms of all contracts and liaise with neighbors in the development of access and license agreements. 

    • Comprehensive financial management. 

    • Manage master project schedule, including filings and approvals. 

    • Coordinated with Saint Ann’s attorneys to achieve filing fee exemption with the Dept. of Buildings. 

    • Challenging street and site logistics, multiple neighbor access agreements, and a very active street where school safety is paramount. 

    • Extensive structural work to create new interstitial floors, and strengthen the entire structure and foundations to support the play roof. 

    • Underpinning of neighboring foundations required to install new elevator shafts. 

    • Working around existing Bank vault in Cellar that remained since it was too large and costly to demolish. 

    • Phased abatement and demolition required to condense project schedule and inform construction documents.
