The new Adams Street Library is Brooklyn Public Library’s 60th branch and first new branch built since 1983.  The library serves all New Yorkers and visitors but especially the Vinegar Hill, DUMBO and Farragut communities who previously did not have a local branch. The new library is located on the ground floor of a landmarked, former factory building.  The 6,565 square feet of raw space was transformed to house library materials (books, media, etc), meeting rooms, as well as facilities and programming space for children, teens and adults. 

In addition to providing full project management services, Envoie played a key role in managing the budget and various funding sources, and provided expertise in the reporting and documentation requirements of pass-through City contracts.

    • Ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with the City pass-thru grant requirements.

    • Develop and maintain a detailed budget, cost reporting system, and funding management.

    • Assist BPL with making design decisions with respect to programmatic, operational and cost considerations.

    • Prepare RFP’s for Owner direct purchases including Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment.

    • Value engineering at the completion of construction documents to bring the project back into budget.

    • Coordinating construction activities in conjunction with ongoing renovations being performed by landlord in other parts of the building.

    • Manage multiple funding sources with strict allocation requirements and firm deadlines.
