People’s Theatre: Centro Cultural Inmigrante
New York, NY
The People’s Theatre, an immigrant- and women-led nonprofit, received a $15M grant from the NYC Economic Development Corporation to acquire and operate a first-of-its-kind Immigrant Research and Performing Arts Center (IRPAC) in the upper Manhattan neighborhood of Inwood. Envoie was retained by to act as the Theatre’s advocate in negotiations with the development team - a partnership between L+M Development, Taconic Investments, and MSquared - who will be constructing the space for them as part of a larger mixed-used development. Envoie was also brought on board to engage and manage a design team to help bring their vision for a vibrant visual and performing arts center to life. In addition to supporting the People’s Theatre in this development deal, Envoie also provides expertise in pursuing additional forms of project funding and overall financial management of the project.
